Prior to this project, the 10 mile segment of the South West Coastal Path that passes through Plymouth would often be bypassed by walkers. The challenge was to stimulate people to take a journey through the city. Starting with a giant granite doormat inscribed 'Welcome to Plymouth please wipe your feet', the path takes walkers on a journey of Plymouth's cultural, industrial and sociological past which investigates the sedimentary nature of history specific to a place. References include medieval pilgrims, the Hollywood stars who docked at Plymouth, gold bullion, green men, Sherlock Holmes, knitted breakfasts and woolly rhinos to name a few.

In collaboration with:
Russell Coleman, Owen Cunningham, Matt Franks, Brian Fell and Saffron Waghorn.
Typography – Why Not Associates.
Implementation – Russell Coleman.
